If a player who has negotiated a no-trade clause is informed of and consents to a trade, his no-trade clause carries over to his new team with the same conditions.

In 2016-2017, only three players have outright no-trade clauses in their contracts: Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James, and Dirk Nowitzki. These three players can block any trade rendered by their teams this season. Indeed, this clause extends only to the current season.
